4A THE SUPERIOR EXPRESS Thursday, April 29, 2010 Superior Junior hl track team competes at Deshler invite Super!0r junior high track athletes competed Thursday at the Deshler in- vitational meet held in Superior. Boys team results - Thayer Central 199, Sandy Creek 94, Bruning-Daven- port-Shickley 69, Deshler 61, Sandy Creek B 24,Superior 17. Girls team results - Bruning-Dav- enport-Shickley 183.25, Thayer Cen- tral 112, Sandy Creek 76.5, Superior 57.25, Deshler 32. Sandy Creek B 1. Highlights for Superior in the meet included placing three girls Alex Meyer, Amy Hefts and Chelsea Renz in the discus (second, fourth and sixth); Makayla Utecht and Jaysa Hoins plac- ing third and fourth in the 800; Claire Dressman and Angelica Hermosillo placing fourth and sixth in the 200; and Jacob Hawley placing fourth in the pole vault (his first meet of the year in this event). Personal best performances were turned in by Claire Dressman and An- gelica Hermosillo in the 200, Amy Hefts and Chelsea Renz in the discus, Makayla Utecht in the 800, Holly Wilt St. Cecilia girls, boys track teams win annual Superior invitational The annual Superior invitational track meet was held April 20. Superior athletes who turned in per- sonal bests were KaylaKlatt 400,Taryn Betka triple jump, Tori Hatzenbuehler discus, Sidney Price 100, Derek Isom discus and 200, Justin Petsch 400 and Junior Reed 100. Season best marks were attained by the girls 4 x 100 relay team (Sidney Price, Kayla Klatt, Jett Mickelsen and Montana Hayes), Madison Miller in the 100 meter hurdles and Jared Hass ia the 3,200. Top individual performers from SHS in the meet were Montana Hayes first in pole vault and second in the 200, Sidney Price second in the 100 and fifth in the long jump, and lared Hass second in the 3,200 and fourth in the !,600.
