PA THE SUPERIOR EXPRESS Thursday, October 15, 1992 -; Features "Community Events Li Honor Donna Gillan at postal retirement party Nelson celebrated Homecoming with a victory over the Meridian Mustangs Friday. Coronation of the Homecoming royalty was held following the game. Membersofthe court are Amy Martens, Kevin Whitmore, King Travis Clabeugh, Queen Marsha Kleen, Jeremy Gumaer, Lisa Schleufer, Kelvin Whitmore and Julia Buescher. Cmwnbearers are Jessica Luben and Bryce Brown. Gift bearers are John Reed and Jalm Kile is a fall pledge of Delta Tan Delta at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Andrew Miller, Hardy, has pledged Tau Kappa F..psilon at Nebraska Wesleyan University, Lincoln. Donna Gillan was honored with a retirement party Sunday aftenmoon at the Oak Cafe. Mrs. Gillan has retired from the U.S. Postal Sevice after nearly 35 years of service. The event was hosted by her children and their families. Mrs. Gillan's career began at Oak in June of 1958. In 1976 she began loaning from Oak to offices at Ruskin, Hardy, Nelson and Hastings as needed. Detailed as postmaster re- lacement at Nelson in May and une of 1983, she received a 25- year pin at Oak post office in June 1983. Mrs. Gillan transfen'ed to Hastings post office as PTF dis- tribution clerk in September 1983 and made regular in June 1985. She served as officer in charge at Oak from Aug. 3, 1985to Sept. 6, 1985. Mrs. Gillan received a 30- year pin at Hastings in June 1988 and was excessed to Grand Island Feb. 8, 1991. Lin Recent visitors in Superior from Golden, Colo., were Dana and Bert 7 Fenimore. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard New- ell, Coneordia, were visitors of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Corman, Friday evening.
