RHHS Sarena Meir takes second at league meet Sarena Meier, who runs with the Pike Valley Panthers cross country team during the regular season as part of a cooperative program, donned Rock Hills High School jersey as she com- peted at the Lakeside Invitational meet, Thursday at Downs. The meet was also the Northern Plains League meet. Meier will complete her high school career while she represents the Griz- zlies at the regional and state meets. Meier finished fourth overall and second in the Northern Plains League, with her time of 20:29 over the five kilometer course. Their were 90 run- ners entered in the meet. Meier was also named to the girls Northern Plains League All-League 2016 cross country team. Meier will compete at the regional meet being run at the Leonardville Golf Course, Saturday, hosted by Riley County. Race time is set for l I a.m. RHJHS volleyball wraps up season The Pike Trail League tournament, played at Miltonvale, Monday, marked the end of season play for the Rock Hills Junior High School volleyball team. The team won all three matches in their pool. They downed Pike Val- ley in two sets, 25-17 and 25-16. They disposed of Lincoln in two sets, 25-22 and 25-13. They took car e of Lakeside in three sets, 25-27, 25-14 and 15-7. They dropped a bracket match to Thunder Ridge in two sets, 22-25 and 16-25. The team rallied to down Lakeside in three sets, 25-21, 22-25 and 15-13, to earn the third place spot.
