Mattison Sullivan, daughter of Matt and Teresa Sullivan of Superior is this month s recipient. Mattison is a freshman at Superior High School. Her supervised agricultural ex- perience (SAE) program consists of working at Sullivan Farms. Her responsibilities include mowing, maintenance, pasture renovation and keeping up with housework. This month Mattisonparticipated in the District 8 Livestock Judging Contest and earned a purple ribbon. She helped he junior division team qualify for state competition in April. Sullivan attended the 83rd National FFA con- Mattison Sullivan vention in Indianapolis E,U, ana in October. In September, she competev in the Nebraska State FFA Dairy Judging. Mattison is a member of the Earnings and Saving committee. She participated in the Chapter s Fireworks fund raiser and the Chapter Fruit and Cheese Sales this fall. Mattison earned her FFA Greenhand degree in November. Mattison is enrolled in the Ag Education I class this semester. Sh is an agriculture education tionor roll student. Her hobbies include basketball, volleyball, lifting weights, and hanging out with friends. On Tuesday, she attendedTai Chi class. .Phyllis Shmitt visited Pauline Hanson last Monday. Last Tuesday she visited Mike and Ellen Buresh. Ellen had just returned home on Monday after having heart surgery in Lincoln on Monday of the week before. Last Wednesday, Phyllis was again in Su- perior and with Pauline had coffee and rolls at a care. Ermalee Scroggin was in Hastings last Wednesday for a medical appoint- ment. Ermalee was a'Thanksgiving Day guest in Gretna with Duane and LeAnn Egle and their family. Chris and Amy Jaekel and family came from Sullivan, Ind., and Bryan and Cheri Phillips came from Topeka. Ermalee stayed ovem!ght and came home on Friday. The Peterson family gathered at the home of Ruth Peterson in Hastings on Thanksgiving Day. Her children, Heather and Ronnie Anderson and fam- ily, Shane Peterson and Danton and Rebecca Zumalt and children of Colo- rado were there along with Phil and Gerry Eckles, Lorrell and Maggie Peterson, Troy and Andy, Rhonda and Gordon Brubacher and a Chinese stu- dent, and Sondra Peterson and Tracy Murray. Lesley Soucie and children, Beau, Chase and Halle, came to the home of Don and Lola Biltoft late Wednesday night. Joining them on Thanksgwing were Roger and Cathy Biltoft, Gage and Kelsey. Lesley and children left early Friday morning. Barb and Gus Glaser came to Donna Gillan's home last Wednesday afternoon. Thanksgiving Day,- they went to Deshler where Jerry and Carol Anderson were hosting a dinner at the activity center. The Glasers returned home on Fridaymoming. The Hanson family gathered at the home of Matt and Teresa Sullivan on Thanksgiving Day. Among those at- tending were their children, Mattison and John, Alfred and Janell Hanson. Pauline Hanson, Todd and Taye Mohler, Jack, Elizabeth and Ava. Jen- nifer Hanson, and Pat and Joyce Rall. Later in the day, Alfred and Janell, Pauline, Teresa, Jennifer and Taye went to Edgar to join in the celebration of Darwin and Sandra Sterkel' s 50th wed- ding annwersary. Gaylen and Jackie Cox joined other family members at the bowling alley in Edgar for their Thanksgiving celebra- tion hosted by Dennis and,Kathy Moore. Later, the Sterkels anniver- sary celebration was held. Gaylen and Jackie went to Blue Hill in the evening for their immediate family gathering hosted by Jeff and Carisa Cox. Anders Jensen and Drew Shelbum were guests of Grandma Donna Gillan from Thursday evening to Sunday morning. Cheryl Jensen picked them up on Sunday and went tO Aurora, o Nab., where they met Drew's morn to return home. Phyllis Schmitt joined other rela- tives in Ruskin on Saturday at St. Mark's fellowship hall for the 80th birthday celebration honoring Marietta Free hosted by her children, Larry and Dorcas Judy and family and Dave and Deb Judy of Colorado. Dinner was served along with visiting and eating birthday cake and ice cream. Going to Hardy on Sunday for din- ner were Pauline Hanson, Alfred and Janell Hanson, Matt, Teresa, Mattison an& John Sullivan, and Jennifer Hanson. Phyllis Schmitt hosted a dinner on Sunday at her home. Guests were Dixie and Junior Drohman, Derrick Drohman, Jerry, Kelly, Jordan, Hannah, Landon and Peyton Schmitt, and Dustin and Molley Drohman. Nikki Drohman joined them later for supper. Phyllis had joined the Drohman family for dinner on Thanks- giving Day.
